TRANSFER FROM ST JAMES'S PALACE TO WESTMINSTER HALL

The Queen Mother's procession on Friday to the lying in state at Westminster Hall involved 1,700 members of the armed services. It included members of the Royal Family, members of the Queen Mother's own Bowes Lyon family and her staff. At its centre was a gun carriage carrying the coffin. In front of the coffin were the Mounted Police, the Royal Air Force Bands, The Witwatersrand Rifles (South Africa), The Transvaal Scottish (South Africa), The Cape Town Highlanders (South Africa), Royal New Zealand Army Medical Corps, Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, Canadian Forces Medical Services, The Toronto Scottish Regiment, The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada, Royal Air Force Detachment, Detachment of 1st Battalion Scots Guards, Royal Marines Bands, Detachment of the Royal Marines, Detachment of the Royal Navy, Foot Guards Bands, Captain Nicholas Ulvert (ADC to the General Officer), London Brigadier Martin Vine (Deputy Commander), London Lieutenant Colonel Hugh Bodington (Brigade Major Household Division) and Major General Redmond Watt (General Officer Commanding London).

Second row: Mr. Peter Phillips, Prince Harry of Wales, Prince William of Wales and Viscount Linley.
Third row:Commodore Timothy Laurence RN, Prince Michael of Kent, The Duke of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Mr. Daniel Chatto.
Fourth row: Mr. Simon Bowes Lyon, The Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, Lord Glamis and The Hounourable Albemarle Bowes Lyon.

They were followed by members of the Queen Mother's staff, representative Detachments of Her Majesty's Regiments: 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards, The Queen's Royal Hussars (The Queen's Own & Royal Irish), 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales'), The King's Regiment, The Royal Anglian Regiment, The Light Infantry, The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment), Royal Army Medical Corps, The Royal Yeomanry, 68 (Inns of Court & City Yeomanry Signal Squadron 71st Yeomanry Signal Regiment (Volunteers), A (London Scottish) Company, The London Regiment, Royal Artillery Band, Dismounted Detachment of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and the Mounted Police.
