25 years Stichting Nassau en Friesland

The Stichting Nassau en Friesland (Nassau and Friesland Foundation) has been organizing activities in the Dutch province of Friesland already for 25 years. Together with partners like the Fries Museum, Fryske Akademy and Historisch Centrum Leeuwarden they also publish. Yearly at least two lectures, three city walks and concerts are being organized, and in special jubilee years the program is even bigger. The foundation hopes to keep the interest and memory in the Frisian Nassaus, the ancestors of the Dutch royal family, in Friesland alive.

For the autumn of 2022, the board of the foundation has compiled an attractive programme of lectures, in which expert speakers will tell about one or more Frisian stadholders in a public-friendly manner. The lectures will be held weekly from 21 September onwards. The distribution of the lectures throughout the province has been taken into account. The lecture series will be concluded with a jubilee meeting in Leeuwarden, where music from the era of the Frisian Nassaus will be performed as well. Most lectures will be free.
