Royal souvenirs from the UK

London and Windsor are full of places where you can buy royal souvenirs. If you visit castles and palaces, also elsewhere in the country, there are tons of souvenirs. What to buy? Unfortunately it is all terribly expensive.

Of course the obvious places in London are the shops of Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. Tea towels, items to take home with you for your dog, clothing, toys, postcards. Ranges of porcelain, made for royal occasions like the 70th birthday of the Prince of Wales, the weddings of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, the 70th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip … you name it. The collection is constantly changing. You can have a look at the website of the Royal Collection Trust.

The same in Windsor where apart from several castle shops there are tons of souvenir shops in the streets around the castle. I saw a few exclusive royal wedding printed cashmere wraps near the railway station, that of course cost a lot. The prize for cheaper souvenirs vary a lot. I did find a tea tin for 5 pounds sterling, while elsewhere it cost 7 pounds sterling. Just before closing time my friend (luckily she is very patient) and I ended up in a souvenir shop that was rather expensive, but I would recommend it to anybody who doesn’t mind spending a bit of money. It is called Glorious Britain.

You can find their shops at the airports of Heathrow, Luton and Stansted, in London itself, but also in Windsor, almost facing the castle. They were lucky that they had sale, so I decided to buy a few things. Unfortunately I can’t find a working website, but at least I was able to take some pictures. I got myself a Harry & Meghan wedding apron, a notebook of the wedding (on sale at the designer’s website Milly Green too) Somehow I forgot to take a wedding magnet with me, although my magnet board is already full with magnets of other royal weddings. Their newest range of articles was designed by Julia Gash, and I just had to buy the canvas tote bag with her royals art print.
