13 May

Three days after his birth on 10 May 2020 Prince Charles of Luxembourg was allowed to leave the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg-City with his mother Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie and his father Hereditary Grand Duchess Guillaume of Luxembourg. The family returned to Fischbach Castle. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume also registered the birth of his son at the Town Hall of Luxembourg-City.

17 May

The Norwegian royal family celebrated their national day in an alternative style because of Covid-19. Photos can be found on the royal website.

Prince and Landgrave Otto von Hessen-Philippsthal died tragically in a motor accident in the South of Germany, aged 55. He leaves his ex-wife and four children. Death announcement

The engagement was announced between Prince Jaime de Borbón Dos Sicilias, Duke of Noto and Lady Charlotte Lindesay-Bethune. He is the eldest son of Prince Pedro and Princess Sofia, the Duke and Duchess of Calabria. She is the youngest daughter of the Earl and Countess of Lindsay. There was an official announcement in the British newspaper The Telegraph on 19 May.

20 May

On World Bee Day Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden took her children Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar to the hives in the Haga Park. The Swedish Beekeepers’ Federation presented the hives on the occasion of the wedding of Victoria and Daniel Westling in 2010. For photos see: Royalcourt.se

23 May

Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, the Duchess of Brabant has finished secondary school. On 31 August she will start a one-year study social and military sciences at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels, Belgium.

24 May

No Grand Prix of Monaco in May 2020. Therefore the French director Claude Lelouch filmed a remake of his 1976 film. Race driver Charles Leclerc drove around in a Ferrari, watched by Reigning Prince Albert II of Monaco, who even took place in one of the cars. He was accompanied by several family members. Also his nephew Pierre Casiraghi took the chance to race through the streets of Monaco. For some photos see here.
