Dutch royal TV in times of crisis

The Dutch television at the moment rebroadcasts successful old tv-programs, including some royal ones. Unfortunately most of it is in Dutch, but it is worth watching. I hope all is visible abroad, but on Twitter several people said they could see them.

“Bezoek aan Drakensteyn” – The 1980 interview with Princess Beatrix and Prince Claus that was broadcasted a few days before Beatrix became Queen of the Netherlands.

“Beatrix, Koningin” – a portrait on the occasion of the 50th birthday of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in 1988.

Furthermore there is a rather nice documentary about the life of Princess Beatrix on tv right now: “De zware jas van Beatrix”. The 4th and last episode will be broadcasted on Wednesday evening 8 April 2020. Among the speakers are Princess Benedikte of Denmark and the Israelian diplomat Avi Primor – they speak in English, so at least you should be able to follow part of the documentary.

On King’s Day, 27 April 2020 NOS broadcasted a compilation with the highlights of the King’s Days between 2014 and 2019.

The wedding interview of the Prince of Orange and Máxima Zorreguieta from January 2002 was broadcasted on 29 April.

Also on 29 April one could see a documentary about the history of Queen’s Day under Queen Juliana.
