A Garden Dedicated to Princess Diana

This year we are commemorating the 20th death anniversary of Diana, Princess of Wales. At the Kensington Palace in London you can’t only see an exhibition with some of her iconic dresses (more about that later), but there is also a new temporary garden in the grounds of the palace, dedicated to Diana.

The gardeners at Kensington Palace have created a wonderful garden in the historic Sunken Garden, admired by Princess Diana herself, which you unfortunately can’t enter. I would have loved walking around and have a closer look. You however can walk around the garden and look at it from all sides. I did see the Spring garden on 4 May 2017, while from 15 May the gardeners will change over for two weeks to the Summer design. This design will be shown from June to August.

The garden still looked gorgeous when I was there, with white tulips (Diana, Spring Green, Purissimus), hyacinths, daffodils, forget me nots. Soon white roses and glowing ornamental grasses, Cosmos daisies and billows of graceful Gaura will overtake. The garden celebrates Princess Diana’s elegance, vivacity and style with a sea of white flowers, including some of her favourites. She loved visiting the garden and enjoyed the always changing floral displays.
