It was a bit early for a look at the garden at Palace Het Loo in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, on Saturday 25 March, but it was well worth it. The weather was absolutely gorgeous for this time of the year. Not really warm, but very, very sunny with a bright blue, almost cloudless sky. The only thing I didn’t like too much were the sun spots on some photos of the immediate back of the palace. And if you searched well, you could find the first flowers of this year starting to grow and bloom, mainly in the Queen’s Garden. I was glad that I was informed about that by the Twitter-site of Het Loo Gardens (Tuin Paleis Het Loo). From what I heard this week with sun and rain has quickened the process a bit, and there is more and more colour to be found in the gardens now.
I have seen the garden both in late Spring, the middle of Summer, late Summer and even covered with snow. But every season has its charm. The nice thing of this time of the year is, that not everything is covered yet with plants and that you can see the patterns in the garden maybe even better. Some statues were still covered.
If you’d like to wait until the gardens really are looking wonderful, I guess you should at least wait until May.

Kostte nog wel wat moeite hoor, want er waren nog best wat mensen. Maar blijkbaar is het toch aardig gelukt. Het was zulk prachtig weer.
