After the New Year’s reception on 14 January 2020 the Dutch royals posed for official photos inside the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Photographer Martijn Beekman took pictures of King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and her husband Prof. mr. Pieter van Vollenhoven.
If you wonder why there is no picture of Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, who was present at the reception too … upon asking the Government Information Service surprisingly let news agency “ANP” know that the former Queen is still very happy with the series taken in the Autumn of 2017, and said:
“These are still sufficient.”
I am just not quite sure if royalty watchers totally agree. Even when the pictures are lovely, new photos are always a treat.
