The Bhutanese Royal Desktop Calendar

Nobody will wonder if I say that the photo on my desktop is a royal one. Since more than two years already I am a huge fan of the monthly desktop calendars the Bhutanese site Yellow provides. The site is being curated by the Royal Office for Media and they do an excellent job when it comes to these calenders. They don’t only come for desktops and laptops, but also for smartphones and tablets.

The photos can be downloaded for free and show either King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, his wife Queen Jetsun Pema or their cute little son the Gyalsey (Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck). The calendars show the Gregorian calendar, the Bhutanese Lunar calendar and of course the public holidays in Bhutan.

The July 2017 calendar is dedicated to the people working in the healt sector and shows the little Gyalsey playing ‘doctor-doctor’. The site says: Our health personnel are an inspiration and role models for many, for their hard work and sacrifice, and for healing and helping so many people every day.

Personally I love the photos of this cute little prince most, although a nice photo of his parents isn’t bad either. I just hope they will continue this project, as I absolutely adore it. Maybe an idea for other royal houses to do the same?
