An impressive train for Countess Sophie

It is hard to keep up with all the big royal weddings at the moment, and there are more to come. At the Parish Church St. Johannes Baptist in Sünching, Germany, Archduke Joseph Albrecht “Josh” of Austria married Countess Sophie von Schaesberg on Saturday 26 August 2023. Their engagement became known in the first days of 2022.

The bride had chosen a lace dress by the Spanish designer Lorenzo Caprile. Possibly she wore an impressive family train, that was of a fully different colour than the dress. In her hair there was a hardly visible hair ornament, that might have been a very tiny tiara. The couple had invited about 600 guests. After the wedding the reception was being held at the nearby family castle of the mother of the bride.

The groom was born in 1994 as son of Archduke Joseph Karl of Austria and Princess Margarete von Hohenberg. The bride was born in 1997 as daughter of Count Johannes von Schaesberg and Baroness Antoinette von Hoenning O’Carroll.
