Time flies! On 21 July 2023 it is 10 years ago since King Philippe succeeded to the Belgian throne. The Belgian Royal Palace on the occasion released wonderful new official pictures of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians, both in civil and gala dress. The photos were taken at Laeken Palace by Michel Gronemberger.
As is often the case at official pictures Queen Mathilde is dressed in white. I especially love the one on which she poses alone. The other pictures show the King in gala uniform and the Queen wearing an evening gown in purple, the same colour of the Order of Leopold, the oldest and highest Belgian order, that both of them wear.
